Project Forecast: Superior Drama CD

Over one year has passed since the Hero started a new adventure log, but the Hero has yet to step out of the home town or even answer the King's summon.

The King has summoned again, and this time the Hero finally gets out of the house and starts toward the direction of the castle...

...end of lame excuse for not adding anything to the Log.

Well, the first translation project has officially been picked, but it won't be the Saiunkoku Monogatari novel as previously speculated. Instead, it's going to be a drama CD. One of my favourite drama CD's, 『シューピアリア』(Superior).

There's four tracks to the story, but I will probably post the translation in parts depending on the length of each section. If my lazy nature doesn't kick in too much again, I should have something before the end of the year. *crosses fingers*

On a side note, right now I'm leaning toward writing Agion in Chinese instead of English since I suck at writing action scenes in English. And the dog breeds I use for names would likely sound less obvious and comical in Chinese. We'll see.

ぼうけんのしょをつくる Create A New Adventure Log

This is it! I'm finally putting this pet project of mine that's been sitting in the back of my mind for the last few years into action. Allow me to present to you Saluki's Adventure Log!

For those that grew up with the NES (Famicom), the term adventure log may not be alien to you. People spent many many hours labouring through numerous trials to build up their adventure logs in hope of restoring peace to the world of Dragon Quest, only to lose everything with a careless drop of a hand. My brother lost his DQ IV data (5th chapter in) when the cartridge wanted to kiss the floor badly. I lost my DQ III data (underworld) when the Windows 95 laptop that hosted the emulator program (I don't have the hardware to play the cartridge anymore) refused to live in the same world as Window Vista...

This is my new adventure log. It will contain a record of my stories, both original and fan fictions, as well as my Japanese novel translation projects. How often I'll be able to save my adventure depends on how not lazy I am, which means it'll probably be sparing. While this adventure log is saved online, I'm not advertising it except for a short note on Paw Wow, which no one knows about anyway. So feel free to browse through the log and laugh at my writing skills should you happen to stumble in here. I take no responsibility for any brain damage that might occur during your stay.

All posts regarding the Adventure Log itself will have the label "Boukensho".

A quick note for when I get around to actually writing Agion (it'd be lucky if it's next year...), I'm not inserting myself into the story even though the protagonist has the same name. Saluki is not my usual handle; I only use it when playing game. It's a type of dog breed, and I have a habit of using dog breeds to name my characters in games.

The Adventure Log will start with the translation project of the Saiunkoku Monogatari novels. This project is more of a challenge I set for myself to further my Japanese skills than anything. I do not speak Japanese and have never taken Japanese lessons in school. Everything I know I learned from watching anime, reading manga, listening to music, and playing games. If you are fluent in Japanese, I could use a lesson or two, especially on the grammar. I currently have 14 volumes of Saiunkoku Monogatari and one volume of the side stories, all 10 volumes of Toradora! and one of the spin-offs, three volumes of Toshokan Sensou, and one volume of Kiri.

I need to figure out how to do a mouse over pop-up thing for the individual translation notes, though, and I am no programmer. We'll see how long it'll take me to sort this out. Until then.
